| I've become friends with an adult. He is 32, I am 37. We had the same reoccurring dreams as children, about being in a certain place together. Does anyone know what this means? |

Hi Lucia,
Welcome to the IASD Discussion Boards.
Unfortunately we don't do dream interpretation here.
So how did you confirm that you have had reoccurring dreams with each other in them? Did you have journals to compare or did you discuss them? |

| Hello. Thanks for the response. I wasn't looking for a dream interpretation, thus the absence of me describing the content of the dream. I'm sure I could have worded the question better. I was looking for how common it is for someone to have the same reoccurring dream as someone else as a child when they did not know the other person. Also, I was wondering if this had ever happened before to other people, and if so, what were the circumstances? It has been confirmed by both of us by how we disclosed details of the dreams to one another. |

No worries on the dream interpretation part, I was just making sure you were aware of that and that wasn't your question.
If I have this correctly, you both had reoccurring dreams of the same event as children AND you were both in each other's dreams? We had a similar question on here not too long ago and I will respond similarly.
Though my initial response would be that either of the above scenarios (similar reoccurring dreams or shared reoccurring dreams) is extremely rare (of course the latter much more rare than the former), at the same time they may not be as rare as they might seem.
Meaning those who have reoccurring dreams with the same characters in them may be sharing those dreams with real people who are currently walking the Earth. However they have no way to verify it if they never meet those people in real life. So if that does happen...if people share a reoccurring dream, but never meet, then when people who do share a reoccurring dream actually meet in person it seems extraordinary that they have been sharing the same dream as children. When in the long run, the actual event (sharing a reoccurring dream) isn't as extraordinary as is both people actually remembering the dream as well as running into each other and sharing it.
I hope that makes sense, if not, let me know where I lost you and I'll try to clarify. |

Which is why I had the last sentence in the post as a disclaimer. I sort of felt that way about it myself. |
