Healing through the Imagination
Weekend Workshop with Robert Moss
Orrington Hotel, Evanston, Illinois
May 17 & 18, 2008
10-5 Saturday, 10-4 Sunday
About the Workshop: We can reach inner sources of healing and bring them to work in our bodies and our lives through the practice of imagination, that great faculty of soul which (as William Blake said) can create worlds.
The practice of imagination involves developing personal images that help our bodies stay well and give us juice in our life journeys. The body believes in imagery; it does not seem to distinguish between a physical event and a powerful image. Where do we get the imagery that works for us? In this fun, high-energy class, we'll learn how to harvest fresh and custom-designed imagery for healing from dreams, meditation and creative flow.
With the aid of focused intention and heartbeat shamanic drumming, we'll embark on a hyper-awake dream journey to discover an inner space for self-healing to which we can return.
We’ll remember that healing comes through when we tap into the deeper story of our lives. Joseph Campbell maintained, correctly, that healing is what happens when we move “beyond suffering into myth.”
We’ll learn to tell better stories, drop our negative mantras and self-limiting beliefs and claim the power of reinventing our lives and our world
