whatsthat I have a stack of journals that combine dreams and waking life experiences. I'm tired of clutter, and really only keep things around if they are useful or joyful. I rarely go back to read them, and I'm considering burning all the old ones. Any suggestions? Does anyone else have this issue? Ideas?

Hi missyowser,

Welcome to the IASD Discussion Boards.

Why don't you scan them into your computer?

Hello Missyowser!

I can sympathize with your situation. I also have a stack of such journals combined with dreams. Mine go back about 34 years. I can understand the need/desire to let go of the past and burn them all. This may be quite a feeling a relief from clutter.

However, I would add that I have had the occasion to go back to my old dream entries in recent times. I have even been entering some of the old dream into my current computer database of dreams. What I have found amazes me often. When I pick up an old dream, there is almost always something that happens in my current life very shortly afterward that relates to the old dream, even from 30 some years back. This may not happen to others, I grant you, but I have found some magic in the old dreams that never seems to die. You can read a recent dream blog entry relating to this at the following link: http://wholedreams.org/blog/entry?id=14;fa=1.

I am sure that whatever you choose to do, however, it will be the right decision for you.
