About Dr. Barbara Koning

(Clinical) Psychologist of Religion, Spiritual Director, Dreamcounsellor, Author.
Current: I am running a Center for Dreams and Wellbeing Lilaia.
I offer several types of courses and workshops and lectures on dreams, for lay persons as well as for ministers and pastors. I offer retreats on Dreams on the Spiritual Journey (nationwide). I am coaching several individual clients. Some of them are ministers in the Protestant Church of the Netherlands. I have written a dream course. Next from 2009-2015 I was the president of the Dutch Association for the Study of Dreams (VSD: Vereniging voor de Studie van Dromen), a non-profit organization aiming to foster the knowledge of dreams and the practicing of dreamwork. Within VSD from 2009-2014 I have been chairing of the board of editors of the Dream Journal, the tri-annual Magazine of the VSD. Also so far I have been organizing 10 post-initial education symposia for members and non-members, on specific areas of interest within the larger general field of dreamwork. Next I have been setting up a nationwide network of 10 regional groups for members of VSD, many of them professional coaches and counselors, who meet for sharing expertise and doing dreamwork.

Education in Dreams:
Formal: Dreamleader, Jungian Dream Interpretation and Methods for Individual and Group Dreamwork at Haden Institute, North Carolina USA. Other: Member of two dreamgroups of VSD. Member of conference committee of VSD, organizing the bi-annual VSD one-day conferences with a diversity of topics of interest.

I have found IASD through the internet. I became a member in 2007.
I consider IASD as an important portal for developing and sharing expertise about dreams and bringing this to others near and far.
Positions:
2010-2013 Member of Board of IASD.
2009-2011 Member of conference committee preparing IASD 2011 annual conference in The Netherlands.
2011, 2012, 2013 and 2014 Presenter in IASD annual conferences; offering papers or leading a morning dreamgroup.
