About Evelyn Menary, M.A.

I have completed a Master of Arts degree in Psychology (Carleton) and a Bachelor of Arts degree, with a joint-major in Native Studies and English (Trent); as well, I have a certificate in Grief Counselling and Bereavement Education.

In addition to my work as a Life Coach and Writing Coach, I work as a researcher (most recently in palliative care), evaluator, facilitator and writer.

I have kept both diaries and dream journals for over 20 years. I never cease to be amazed at how much clarity, insight and inspiration can be gained by paying attention to dreams. I am most interested in how dream content can not only reflect the interior life of a person, but also influence it over time.

My notes on the IASD

While completing my degrees in Psychology, I had a research grant and worked as a technician, studying dreams, in the former Sleep Lab of Carleton University, Ottawa; my supervisor was Dr. Alan Moffitt.

During that time, the Association for the Study of Dreams held an annual convention at Carleton University, hosted by the sleep lab. While attending a workshop by Dr. Patricia Garfield, I was fortunate to learn first-hand about her technique of dream interpretation, and have enjoyed using it ever since.

List of dream-related publications and/or web sites where my work is featured.

Presented at the Association of Death Education and Counselling, in the Personal Reflections category, on the topic: "The Dreams and Diaries of a Palliative Caregiver."
