About John W. Herbert, Ph.D.
John Herbert was introduced to dreamwork in the early 1960's, when he joined an ARE dream group (Assn for Research & Enlightenment). He started recording his dreams, attended the C.G.Jung Institute in Zurich for a term, and continued Jungian work in San Francisco after he returned to the U.S. As a student at Saybrook Institute, he conducted dream groups using Montague Ullman's "If it were my dream" approach. He designed the format necessary for online dream postings,, and conducted groups on Delphi, the WELL, Compuserve, Seniornet, and America Online. He also participated in Jeremy Taylor's AOL Dream Show, which ran for almost two years, first as an invited guest onstage and later as an AOL host. On July 1, 2000, he received his Ph.D. in Psychology, with the dissertation topic "Group Dreamwork Utilizing Computer Mediated Communication." see http://www.dreamgate.com/herbert
