About Leslie Ellis

My favorite dreams are lucid -- in them I am usually able to fly or breathe underwater, which is what helps me to realize I'm dreaming. I also love dreaming about animals, especially horses and recall a recent one where the horse I am walking with begins by looking old and unkempt and as we progress around the track, he becomes progressively animated, so that by the end he is a shiny, prancing and spectacular chestnut so full of life.
It is equally difficult to single out a specific dream book, but I do love Jung's Memories, Dreams and Reflections because it was so striking to me when I first read it that Jung's autobiography contains far more about his dreams and visions than any practical details about his life. It is as though those dreams ARE his life.

My notes on the IASD

I am just embarking on my dissertation and while my general topic is focusing-oriented dreamwork as therapy for trauma, it is very much a work in progress. I want to use this next period to immerse myself in dream research and theory, to surround myself with others interested in researching and writing about dreams. I'd like to feel support and a sense of community in what I expect could otherwise be a lonely endeavor. Also, I have begun working with Jeremy Taylor, past IASD president, and this also prompted me to join IASD.
