About Luca Barboni

My interest in dreams was born during my childhood when I experienced many vivid dreams, some of them I can still recall, which impressions lasted for days. At different times of my life I paid increasingly attention to my dreaming activity and also tried to experiment and take control of lucid dreaming; yet, I never faced this intriguing matter with method, or with a scientific mindset. This, until now.

I am very fascinated by how an education regarding dream dynamics can interact with self-awareness, self representation and metacognition. In particular, in the field of lucid dreaming, when the course of the dream can be intentionally redirected.

My notes on the IASD

After I graduated in Psychological Sciences at the university of Rome "La Sapienza", I decided I couldn't wait to be funded in order to start dipping my hands into dream studies: I did some background and bibliographical research, and that is how I found out the existence of the IASD. Needless to say, this was a wonderful discovery.

In the resourcefullness of the organization I find crucial the convergence of multiple disciplinary fields: such as anthropology, religious studies, neurosciences, as well as cognitive centered or psycoanalytical data.
