About Patricia Kelly (Dream Worker, Poet, and Tarotologist)

Patricia is a dedicated dream worker and published prize-winning poet who has taught creative writing at locations like The Manhattan Lighthouse for the Blind and the Brooklyn Public Library Children’s Room. Her dreams and poetry blog (listed below)has a daily dreamku (dream-based haiku-like poems) and a large archive of her dreamku by month. She is currently designing a Tarot deck, The Taiga Tarot – illustrated tanka – that is almost entirely dream-inspired (see blog listed below). Patricia’s poetry has won first place prizes from The Feminist Writers Guild and The New York Open Center Goddess Festival. Her poems appear on “Literary House” among other online locales, and in many print publications such as “An Eye For An Eye Makes The Whole World Blind,” an award winning 9/11 anthology. Patricia’s haiku appear on tinywords.com, and her scifaiku (sci-fi/fantasy haiku-like poems) also appear online and in print (e.g. “The Sword Review” and “Abyss & Apex”).

My notes on the IASD

How did you happen to join IASD? Many years ago I attended the New York City ASD (as it was known then) Conference and the rest is history.

What do you see as most important for this organization? To keep doing what it is doing and to stay open to what its members bring to the table. E.g., I recall back in that first conference I attended there was discussion about better exploration of dreams and the arts, and that has certainly been honored.

List of dream-related publications and/or web sites where my work is featured.

Dream Time, newsletter of International Association of the Study of Dreams, California: 1996.

The Dream Tree News, California: February and March 1997.

ElectricDreams online: 2001.

“Inside Out: Haiku and Dreams,” Deep North Press, Illinois: 2003.

IASD Psiber Dreaming Conference Online Art Gallery: 2006 and 2007.

My three blogs:

Roswila's Dream & Poetry Realm -- http://roswila-dreamspoetry.blogspot.com (daily dreamku, A DREAMKU PRIMER, dream-based poems, using Tarot & poetry with dreams, actual dream explorations, and more)

Roswila's Taiga Tarot -- http://taigatarot.blogspot.com (a Tarot deck-in-progress, taiga are illustrated tanka; the designs are all so far dream-inspired)

Roswila's Tarot Gallery & Journal -- http://roswila-tarot.blogspot.com (although dedicated to Tarot, it has an occasional Tarot-dream poem)
