What I love about IASD is how it brings together such a large spectrum of people in a truly democratic way. We all dream every night no matter who we are or where we are. And IASD truly reflects that when we gather in our yearly conference. We all come together in the Spirit and Love of the Dream, each of us offering our gifts stemming from scientific research to artistic expressions to just the gift of a life experience lived to the fullest with the underlying river of our dreams.
After attending the yearly conference in Sonoma in 2007 I came back so filled with enthusiasm that I called upon other dreamers to join me in organizing a first ever Regional Conference on dreams in Southern California. Our dream became a reality on 4/12/2008 at Marymount College in Rancho Palos Verdes, CA. Three years later a larger group of us organized the second regional conference on dreams on 9/17/2011 also at Marymount College. Both conferences were very well attended and enthusiastically received.
Another gift I received from my membership was meeting one of the Board members, Jean Campbell, at the Santa Cruz yearly conference. My husband and I joined her new Internet experiment - The Peace Dreaming Bridge - in October of 2001 to deal with the aftermath of 9/11. The Peace Dreaming Bridge community also accompanied me and comforted me after the death of my husband in 2005.
The Psyberdreaming conference that IASD offers annually so enriches me while I converse with people throughout the globe in my own pyjamas - talking about my favorite subject:)) I also love the "Dreamtime" publication and look forward to receiving it every quarter.
All of us here in Southern Ca. would like to create a large dreaming community to support all dreamers who often feel so lonesome in their dreaming endeavours. That is our dream.
I am deeply grateful to the IASD and its founding members and Board for keeping this organization going for so many years and for spreading the gospel of the dream.
