I have been fascinated by the wisdom of the subconscious mind since I can remember, and have studied dreams for my own self-development. I’m a writer and filmmaker who recently completed a short fantasy film, Dorme. On top of my fascination with the dreamworld, I have become disheartened by how much adult content is thrown into films intended for young children. My lullaby, fantasy film, Dorme, takes us all on a magical journey into the world of dreams, through the eyes and imagination of a child.The film transports us to that mystical place our spirits go to play when our bodies sleep at night.
Dorme became a huge labor of love, due to the effects for the fantasy elements. Many dream symbolisms were woven into the film, which currently is being used in class and discussed for those deeper meanings and spiritual symbolisms, at the Santa Rosa Junior College in their English course titled, Dreams and Inward Journeys. The audience response from the youngest to the oldest viewer, was so overwhelmingly positive, that am looking to publish a Dorme picturebook using the enchanting images out of the film, where the Dorme DVD will be slipped in the back as a companion to the book. I’m also now in the researching and scriptwriting stages for a beautiful, full-length, feature, fantasy film, where more than half of the story will take place in the intuitive dream world. IASD is a wonderful resource for my work.
