About Tore Nielsen, Ph.D.

Tore Nielsen, Ph.D., is a Full Professor in the Department of Psychiatry, Universite de Montreal, Director of the Dream & Nightmare Laboratory, Research Professor of the Quebec Mental Health Research Fund. He is a past member of the ASD Board of Directors; and a past editor of the ASD Newsletter. His special interests are in the laboratory study of dreaming, nightmares and hypnagogic hallucinations, with a special emphasis on psychophysiology and quantitative EEG analyses.

Favorite dream ever: Falling/flying down the staircase.

Favorite dream book: Interpretation of Dreams (1900), because it is a masterful treatment of dream phenomenology and, to a lesser extent, dream process.

My notes on the IASD

past board member
past editor of ASD Newsletter (now Dreamtime)

Most important for IASD: The group needs to secure permanent funding (beyond income from member fees and conferences) which would allow board members to redirect their time and efforts from fund-raising tasks to investing more in creative and, especially, professional development of the dream community.
