About Valley Reed

In my early 20's, my interest in dreaming began to strengthen when I had a precognitive dream that saved my life. I have continued along this personal exploration of dreams and consciousness, and I am always eager to experience the various ways that dreaming can touch my life, and how I can reach others through dreams.

I work with dreams as a healer in my massage therapy practice. I create a safe space that allows imagery to come up during energy work and massage sessions with my clients. The pieces of the puzzle begin to emerge that will best facilitate healing and wholeness. I teach classes and workshops for children, families and individuals on dance improvisation, creative movement, and dreams as a pathway toward creativity, healing and exploration.

I have completed training in soul retrieval and as a Level 1 Certified Dream Teacher with Robert Moss, with whom I have been greatly influenced by his approach to working with dreams.

In working with dreams creatively I have written a fairy tale called the "Crow and the Phoenix" that I choreographed and performed at the 2001 Regional Conference in Cinncinatti, Ohio.
I later performed with Lana Nasser in 2008 at the IASD conference in Montreal, Canada as a dance improvisation based on the original story which was also filmed for the PBS series "Dreamtime".

My notes on the IASD

In the year 2000, I stumbled onto the ASD website where I found not only the kind of community I was looking for, but also a group that shares my concerns and interests in dreaming. I attended the 2000 International Conference in Washington and found the IASD approaches dreaming with professional standards and integrity. I enjoy the diversity of approaches to dreamwork through the membership in the IASD.

I have presented papers and workshops at many previous IASD Conferences on such topics as Dreaming with Young Children, Family Dream Sharing, Dreaming with the Indigenous Mind, Listening to the Earth Dreaming, and Dream Wayfinding and Energetic Dreaming.

I continue to explore the dream realms with awe and excitement and I am so grateful the IASD is there with me.
