About Velva Lee Heraty, MSW, LCSW (IL-R), CADC (IL-R)

Velva Lee Heraty aka Dream Momma helps people understand dreams, symbols, and dream meanings. Her mission is to bring the art of dream meaning and understanding to every dreamer who is struggling with a compelling dream. Her guiding principle is, “The Dream belongs to the Dreamer” so she has created a method of helping people (including children) truly understand their dreams without giving up or, worse yet, giving them away to generic symbol books. Dream Momma believes even dream fragments are important and her method is designed to expand upon them in a very user-friendly way that helps dreamers work successfully with their dreams. Dream Momma’s ultimate goal is to bring the knowledge, awareness, and understanding of dreams and their meaning to individuals who seek that information out. We all dream.

She studied dreams at the C.G. Jung Institute in Evanston, IL for seven years and received a certification from that institute.

She joined the International Association for the Study of Dreams and became a resource for the National Nightmare Hotline created as a result of 9/11

She had a successful private practice in Chicago, IL for 21 years.

Her book, "The Dream belongs to the Dreamer" will be on shelves next year.

My notes on the IASD

I was a member of ASD many years ago. I rejoined as a result of 9/11and volunteering as a resource for the National Nightmare Hotline.

The Importance of ASD: Getting out of the box and working hard to raise public awareness on the importance of dreams and their subjective nature. Gathering the forces and energy of the association to rally around a "Dream Summit" that appeals to the public, not just dream workers.

List of dream-related publications and/or web sites where my work is featured.

I have been working with clients and dreamers for the past twenty-three years.
