Spirit of the Abbey

After the IASD conference at the Rolduc Abbey, some of us who connected so well and spent many musical hours in the courtyard, formed a dreaming group (on Face Book) called "International Dreamers." We dreamt with the intention of reuniting again in the Rolduc courtyard. Here's my dream and my painting:

"I am there in the courtyard alone. Then, I see Ralf and an (unfamiliar) artist friend. She's small, of Asian descent, but fair with very short/shaved hair on her head. Her face is strikingly oval shaped–like an egg! They both have motion auras/shadows around them, as though their bodies are being repeated in other dimensions. These auras show movement in their effort to transport themselves here. The artist has made it finally, and Ralf is allowed to stay because he's adept at this. The hallway at Rolduc is like an Embassy or International Customs Center. The attendants allow people to come and go from other dimensions. The hotel personnel/attendants are half men/half elk or reindeer, with hoofed hind legs. They are dressed professionally from the waist up, and they walk upright like men." — End of Dream

The "unfamiliar" woman artist friend in the courtyard (I discovered with a huge Aha!) had the face of Sherry's friend, Gabby, who died of cancer while we were at the dream conference. It is affirmation, I believe, that her energy has been with us all along! Furthermore, I learned she was known to her group of dreamers as "The Dream Ambassador." How beautiful that she showed up at the dream courtyard Embassy!

Fall into Fear

Fall Into Fear received an award in the Nancy Richter Brzeski Art Competition in 2007.  Brenda’s lucid dream and artwork are presented here both as a retrospective of lucid dream artwork and the 10th anniversary of 9/11.

The painting retells the dream I had the night after 9/11, the reason I chose the Trade Towers burning as the backdrop to this work. To read the article about my dream and painting published in Dream Network in 2007, Click here.

"I am in my bed at night. I hear coyotes in the distance. There's a window at the foot of the bed and a light in the sky, shining in. I sense there's something out there. I move toward the window. As I do, I am sucked out the window and begin falling into endless darkness! I am falling down, down into the deep darkness. I feel like screaming, but then I remind myself I am dreaming. At this point I become lucid. I can see and feel everything slow, and I stop falling. I ask, "What's out there for me?" I demand, "Show me! Show Me!" Then, I begin to move upward. I see the stars as I am traveling up to the heavens. Then uge metal discs with alien writing start moving up around me. I yell once more, "Show Me!" — I even say this out loud in waking reality and I wake myself up..."
