The Parents
(pastel, 20"x32")
Sylvia Gehres Return to Art Index
Parenthetically Tragic/Comic
(mixed media, n.a.)
Jodine Grundy Return to Art Index
This picture was first created in my dream. In my dream, this piece was inadvertently thrown away or not viewed for what it was, so I have recreated its medium and meaning in waking life. As I remembered and recreated this piece first in my mind and then later sketched the image in my journal, layers of meaning began to reveal themselves to me. A somber center of black and white spaces is relieved by a colorful comic . . . I call this piece the "Tragic Comic".
Goddess in the Field of Dreams
(pastel, 22"x30")
Jeanne Jabbour Return to Art Index
Sometimes when I awake from a dream, I do not feel as if I have returned to my waking state as the same person. The dream has been so powerful that there is a shift in my reality and a vision has been burned into my memory. Drawing can release me to this same place. My drive is to create - a force as ancient as the earth itself - the transcendence of reality and the desire to symbolically speak to others.

Dream Journal
(handmade book, boxed set of dream pages)
Dream Page: Lovers
(mixed media, 16"x16")
Pam Johnson Return to Art Index
Ever since 1990, I have used my dreams as the source of my artwork. My aim is to connect with the viewer as the center of being and to share our universal truths. I want to join them in their fears, loneliness, anger, and passion; and the dream is the theater that we share. I am interested in the power of dreams. I explore that power by being among the dark layers and entrusting myself to the truth.

The Rose-Bud Path
(collage, 20"x24")
Ninette Larson Return to Art Index
I work with images, color, and texture to create multimedia collage pieces. As I work, I enter into a state of "flow," allowing my unconscious mind to be my guide. The symbols, juxtaposition and feelings that emerge in the work come directly from the dream state and are an extension of my dreamwork. The only difference appears to be that I translate my dream images into words; whereas, I let my art images speak for themselves.

Time Motion Dream
(cibachrome print, 11"x14")
Mary Mack Return to Art Index
I am an artist working with the magic function of image making. Art enables me to make my dreams come true. Dreams tell stories in glowing images behind closed eyes. Photography is the signature of light in a dark room. Patterns of light create the myth we call reality.
